I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology. As a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), I am committed to ongoing learning to provide informed and compassionate care. I offer sessions both in-person in Vancouver and virtually, and I speak English and Korean.

I believe that every person is unique, with their own personality, values, and experiences. That’s why I use a person-centred approach. My passion is advocating for marginalized communities affected by systemic oppression. I’m especially drawn to supporting the Asian diaspora and bicultural clients navigating mental health challenges related to racism, cultural grief, intergenerational trauma, and minority stress. My own lived experience helps me understand the delicate balance between personal needs and collective identity.

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me exploring mountain trails, cycling around the city, caring for my plants, or capturing moments through photography and crafts, simple ways I stay grounded and inspired.

 FAQs

  • Building mutual understanding and trust between the counsellor and the client is an important part of the counselling process.
Typically, individual counselling runs for at least 6–8 sessions, meeting once a week or every other week. Some clients choose to attend monthly sessions or schedule counselling on an as-needed basis.

  • I don’t offer direct billing at this time. However, I provide a receipt after each session by email, which includes my CCC number (#11260049). You can submit this receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Many insurance providers in Canada recognize this credential for reimbursement. Since coverage can vary, I encourage you to check with your provider to confirm eligibility for sessions with a CCC.

  • If you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please email us at info.horizonhealing@gmail.com at least 24 hours before your scheduled session.
Changes or cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will incur the full session fee. We appreciate your understanding.

  • I provide in-person services subject to my personal schedule through walk & talk this time. I may not be the best fit for you if you have a strong preference for consistent in-person services.

  • I reserve limited sliding scale spots for clients who are facing significant financial barriers but wish to attend therapy regularly.

All sliding scale spots are currently full.
